YT Saver: an honest review, unvarnished

Sometimes all you need to do is just save a YouTube video. No ads, no tambourine, no 20 pop-ups. Just click and download. That’s where YT Saver comes in. We checked how it works, whether it’s worth messing with it at all, and how it’s better (or worse) than other programs.

What exactly is YT Saver?

YT Saver is a youtube downloader, that is, a program that allows you to download youtube videos in a couple of clicks. It supports MP4, MP3, multiple resolutions (up to 4K as well), and you can use it on Windows, macOS, and even the mobile app is available on Android. No magic: you paste a link, it downloads.

But dozens of programs do that. So how is this one different?

Here’s what I liked

It’s stable.

You just copy a link from YouTube and that’s it. The program picks it up, offers to choose the format (e.g. download MP4 or MP3) and resolution. It works fast, and doesn’t require separate customization. As a youtube video downloader, this is important – you don’t waste time on unnecessary things.

Not just YouTube.

Despite the name, YT Saver, it downloads videos off of other websites as well: Facebook, Tik Tok, Vimeo, Instagram. It comes in useful when you, say, would like to preserve some video on Reels or TikTok as a memento (or to edit it).

There’s a Windows version and a Mac version.

And it is really equally convenient. We checked: on Windows 10 and macOS the program works stably, without lags or crashes. Plus – there’s HD and 4K support if you need to save video in good quality.

You can download multiple videos at once.

This is called batch downloading. As an illustration, when you need to download a playlist or 10 videos simultaneously, you do not have to open them one by one. You just put in the list and it downloads everything by itself.

There is a conversion function.

You can immediately download videos as MP3s if you only need the audio, for example. This is useful for podcasts, music or interviews.

But there are downsides

1. Sometimes it gets confused with formats.
   Rarely, but it happened: if you specify download as MP3, it still offers MP4. Resolved by restarting, but still a bug.
2. No mobile version for iOS.
   On Android everything is fine – download APK, install, use. But on iPhone everything is more complicated. Using a browser or third-party tricks – yes, but there is no separate app.

Who’s it good for?

If you often need to download YouTube videos on Windows or Mac, save them to MP4 or MP3, and quality is important, YT Saver is the right one for you. Especially if you’re editing videos, blogging, collecting compilations or just want to listen to your favorite music without internet.

For simple tasks – like saving a couple of videos or a song from YouTube – the free version may be enough. But if you want to download a playlist, work with 4K, without restrictions, you’ll probably have to get the paid version.

How does it compare to the others?

Look. There is a conditional 4K Video Downloader – it is powerful, but the interface is complicated in some places. There are a lot of online services, but they often have ads or are unsafe.

YT Saver – something in between. It is more convenient than most free ones, easier to learn than advanced solutions, and at the same time it is not overloaded with unnecessary functions. That is, it is not “the best program in the world”, but it is working, simple, understandable.

How to use YT Saver

1. Install the program (on the website or via APK for Android).
2. Open YouTube, copy the link.
3. Paste it into YT Saver.
4. Choose the format: MP4, MP3, 720p, 1080p, 4K, etc.
5. Click “Download”.
6. It’s done.

What’s the result?

YT Saver is just a program that does what it’s supposed to do. It is a working youtube video downloader that will help you download youtube videos, save audio, convert to MP3, do it quickly and without tambourine. Yes, it has its limitations, and it’s not perfect. But if you are looking for an understandable, adequate youtube downloader – it is quite suitable.
